Once again, I wanted to incorporate whatever palette was predominate in my work into this collection of portraits over time. I must admit— using green gold was a favorite that year. Evan became a cross country runner in college and was on the team. He learned many aspects of running — and continues to run today. I went to a his cross country meet — and photographed him running a race for this portrait. He didn’t see me. You can see his determination as well as the autumn leaves flying as he whizzed by.
