At this point in my project of documenting Evan through his childhood— I felt that just painting his “face” at 4 years old was not enough. Evan was becoming so much more than a face! His personality and individuality were huge and evident. From this portrait forward- I decided that I had to paint “who” Evan was a particular age— and not just what he looked like.
