Evan and I would vacation in Florida every March for Spring Break. I wanted him to have a love of Florida as I did, as I was raised there. On this trip to FL when he was 12- we were at the beach. I thought he would begin checking out girls strolling by— as this was interesting to me in Junior High (boys that is…). Instead, he was quite playful and completely oblivious of others walking the beach. He buried himself in the sand— and loved the sensation of being sandy and then jumping in the ocean. A few more years of being a kid was more enjoyable for him.
